CarBuyer Compares Nissan Qashqai, Mazda CX-5 and Dacia Duster, Guess Which Car Won

What would you choose between a Dacia Duster, Mazda CX-5 and Nissan Qashqai? CarBuyer asks this question in a video review of the three SUVs presented by Rebecca Jackson and Mat Watson.

Some people, including myself, may argue that comparing the budget Dacia Duster (which in the UK is not yet available in the facelifted version) with the more upmarket Mazda CX-5 and Nissan Qashqai is a little exaggerated, but the result of this review will no doubt surprise you.

The Dacia is deemed the best of the three SUVs off-road, but the worst on the road. Mat Watson describes it as archaic, but let’s not forget that it’s by far the cheapest of the three. As for the Nissan and the Mazda, they play a similar game, but there are quite a lot of things separating them. Scroll down to find out which car won the review.

Mazda Has Built More than 1 Million Skyactiv Vehicles Since November 2011

Mazda announced that it has built more than one million units of its three full-Skyactiv vehicles, the CX-5, Mazda6/Atenza and Mazda3/Axela. Production of the three models reached 1,040,000 units at the end of March 2014, two years and four months after production of the first Skyactiv vehicle, the CX-5, began in November 2011.

All three models adopt the full range of Mazda’s Skyactiv technologies which are aimed at improving the efficiency of the base components that dictate the fundamental performance of the automobile, such as the engine and transmission, while reducing vehicle weight.

“At Mazda we put everything into developing our Skyactiv vehicles, and it is because these models have struck a chord with a wide range of customers all over the world that we have reached the one million-unit landmark,” said Mazda’s Representative Director, President and CEO, Masamichi Kogai.

Mazda is currently building its three full-Skyactiv models in Japan, Mexico, Thailand and China, and selling them in over 100 different countries and regions. By March 2016, the company plans to introduce another five all-new models with improved SkyactivTechnology.

The new generation vehicles that feature Skyactiv Technology also adopt Mazda’s KODO - Soul of Motion design philosophy, which aims to express the strength, beauty and tension, found in the movements of untamed animals.

For every spine-chilling accident recorded on Russian dash-cams, there's always at least one incident on the web that will leave you either scratching your head or bursting into laughter.

We may be chuckling at how the driver of the white Mazda CX-5 proceeded to get in front of the line in traffic, but something tells us that the unfortunate owner of the CX-7 didn't find the move amusing at all…

If you watch the video until the end, you'll see that the CX-5 driver immediately ran to the BMW 1-Series hatch in front and tried to open the passenger door. Unless it was someone he was chasing, we assume he wanted to play the blame game.

Biker Rear Ends a Mazda CX-5 Allegedly at 140mph or 225km/h and Lives!

All it takes is one second of removing your focus off the road for an accident or a near crash to occur. Naturally, the faster you're going, the less time you'll have in your disposal to react and respond to a dangerous situation.

The author of this YouTube video is 'XKotovX' who claims to be the one riding the motorcycle (we have not confirmed this) that rear-ended the Mazda CX-5 crossover on a highway near Fort Collins in Colorado.

In the description, he states: "My motorcycle crash at 140 MPH [225km/h]". Like many commentators on YouTube, we're also a tad skeptical about the speed claim as it doesn't look like he was going 140mph fast - but nevertheless, if he did indeed live, it's nothing short of a miracle.
